Simple and Empowering

“Never believe that a few caring people can’t change the world. For, indeed, that’s all who ever have.”

Our Approach FR

The Dollar A Day Foundation provides a simple, affordable and empowering way for individuals to donate a little to make a large difference in the lives of friends, family and co-workers dealing with mental health and addiction issues. There are many proven programs out there that need more money to expand. That’s our simple focus. Find funds for good programs.  Read more ›

If we all own a small piece of the front line, lives will change today and our collective example will become a louder voice for the social change that is needed to acknowledge the value the lives of those who struggle and make the treatment of mental illness a higher health care priority.

Mental illness and addictions can be treated and when treated in a timely manner, the human and financial costs are far less. Despair is replaced by hope, dignity and the opportunity to give back.

Our Principles

1 Equality among donors

  1. We ask everyone from A Dollar A Day - no more no less. Why? To establish a fundamental equity among donors. Your dollar will go far and your voice for social change is needed and will count the same as everyone else’s in sending a louder message.

2 Lean and Efficient

  1. With no large donors to acknowledge, this foundation will be kept simple, lean, and efficient. No flashy events or ad campaigns. More dollars to the front line!  That’s the goal.

3 Exemplary Communications

  1. Through cost effective online communications, we will share the change you are making and provide donors with a voice and a vehicle for sharing the change with others.

4 Regional Investment

  1. The goal is to fund programs where donors can see and hear about the impact; one if every region of the country and more as we grow.

5 Impact Today

  1. Good people are suffering today and effective programs and program partners exist. Through partnerships with credible organizations your investment will hit the ground running.

Our Partnerships

Our partners include corporate entities who know that mental health and addictions impacts everyone, including businesses to the tune of $1 trillion dollars last year. Our partners contribute without expectation of acknowledgement and with a view to supporting their employees and offsetting the administration costs we incur. Such partnerships ensure that a higher percentage of every dollar donated by individuals makes it to frontline programs.
